Five-feet plans of York
1 : 1056 : York
Engraved maps, surveyed 1849-51 on 21 sheets, laid out on local sheet lines. The printed area measures 25" wide by 17" high, on paper 14.5" by 18.75".
A tremendous amount of detail is shown, including the railway station, sheds and yards, elaborate gardens to large houses and much more. At the edges, the town just stops and open fields begin.
The 21 sheets are offered as photographic copies, with each sheet being on two pieces of paper, each in excellent condition. In places, some of the smaller print is ever so slightly blurred. The originals appear to have had some minor pencil annotations, which in themselves might be of historical interest.
Set of photographic reproductions of the 21 sheets, £100 plus postage at cost.
