Jumble Sale Maps : bargains, rarities and one-offs

Maps offered in bulk : at very low prices
The next stage in reducing the size of our business, is to reduce the physical size of our stock. Thus, we are starting to offer large 'lots' of maps from our standard stock, at very low prices. Unless stated otherwise, all maps are in good bright clean condition, and would appeal to anyone with a bookshop, market stall or eBay enthusiast.

1:25,000 Second Series, Pathfinders
We have several thousand maps in this series, with coverage from Cornwall to the north of Scotland, which we sell at £5 each plus postage.

These maps are very popular with walkers, who so frequently do not like the very large format of the Explorer series. Pathfinders have the familiar green covers, and are popular for showing public rights of way in green, and are the smallest scale showing field boundaries

500 Pathfinder maps for £375
If you indicate a preference for an area, Scotland, the north of England, the Midlands and so on, we will see what we have. Often, we can supply duplicates of popular areas. Plus postage at cost, or collection welcome. Come and select your own maps if you wish.

Old Series : Bargain bundles
The one-inch Old Series were the first maps produced by the Ordnance Survey, and were often revised, usually with new railway information, whilst leaving the original detail unchanged. Maps were initially issued as full sheets, and then as the series progressed, as quarter sheets.

M58. Wales
A collection of 36 'maps' for South and North Wales. All maps have been dissected and mounted on a strong linen cloth, folded with a label on the front surface. Quarter sheets have had the margins trimmed, leaving the full piano key border. Full sheets have been cut into quarters before mounting, thus leaving two sides with piano key borders.

Lacking margins, it is difficult to give exact dates for these maps, but it is assumed they date from the 1870s.

Unless noted otherwise, all are in good clean condition, black and white with most railways marked in red.

Index diagram for the Old Series.

South Wales
The whole of mainland Wales south of a line through Nevern, Llandovery and Hay on Wye. All of the industrial area is included.

Sheets 74 all; 75 NE, SE, SW; 76 S; 78 all; 79 NW.

M57. England
A collection of 34 maps. All maps have been dissected and mounted, some with card covers, others just on a strong linen cloth. All have had the margins trimmed, about half to the neat line and the rest leaving the piano key border.

Lacking margins, it is difficult to give exact dates for these maps, but it is assumed they date from the 1850s to the 1870s.

Unless noted otherwise, all are in good clean condition, black and white with most railways marked in red.
