Meon Valley line

L. & S.W.R. Meon Valley line : MVR : 1:2500

Eighteen sheets at 1:2500 (25" to one mile) showing the line from Lower Farringdon to Brockbridge. All Second Edition of 1909 or 1910. This is the most detailed scale that the Ordnance Survey issued for this area.
Maps are paper folded, roughly 2' by 3', uncoloured in good overall condition. Minor tears and some repairs, but overall the maps are good sound copies from an estate office.

Official stamp reads : The Railway Executive, Southern Region. Estate and Rating Office. Drawing Office. Victoria.

The line has coloured annotations concerning the sale of various parts of the line in the 1960s. Details often include who bought a parcel of land, the date and price paid. Other annotations give details of features and conditions along the track side : 'Sold to Col. Scott, 7/7/67/ £2000', 'slopes heavily overgrown', 20' Bridge. Steel with concrete deck', 'brick arches', 'Southern boundary of Meon Valley Rabbit Clearance Society'.
